There is a fatal flaw
In the logic of love
It rears its ugly claw
And kills it
By not seeing what I saw
As the logical thing
That takes a broken heart
And heals it
We are a fatality
Not just tears have been shed
A sharp tongue craves our blood
And spills it
And the memories gnaw
On whatever’s undead
As the need to withdraw
Fulfills it
This love could have lasted forever
If you only thought differently
You brought your past into our present
And by doing so you overlooked a different me
You loved me but you couldn’t differentiate
Someone you love from someone you hate
And this fatal flaw
In the logic of love
Its touch can never thaw
It chills it
Against natural law
Its illogical cling
Damages the hand
Life deals it
Neither kings nor principalities
Dare reverse its decree
Once it wields what it wields
When it wields it
Two people in awe
Feel the death of their glee
And pray the next lifetime
Rebuilds it
